Our Projects

This property was purchased with visions of creating an open plan living space fit for 3 generations of a Hertfordshire based family. Purchased in a condition that did not align with this goal, our clients engaged us to make their dream a reality. With their large family and love of open plan living in mind we designed an indoor/outdoor open plan living space with vaulted ceiling, giving the home owners a feeling of space even when entertaining the whole clan!

During the build process we did hit one snag, we established through the removal of interior walls that the entire property was built in timber frame and facing brick. This meant re-enforcing the whole structure to allow for the design to go ahead. We have returned to this property on multiple occasions since the build was completed and could definitely class this family as firm friends.

This project on Belgrave Road, E17 was all about modernising and maximising the space available to our clients in their newly purchased property. Minimalists with a love of contemporary design, this couple were keen to imprint their personality, whilst respecting and re-instating many of the existing Victorian features of this classic

Walthamstow terraced house.

We worked together in the design process to create an open plan and spacious ground floor. This became possible through the addition of a rear wrap around extension and loft conversion, allowing them to increase the overall

footprint of the building.

Clever design hacks such as white finishes and discreet inbuilt storage meant this house could become the serene and minimal home they had envisaged.

Our main concern throughout the build was that the work was carried out at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, this made sourcing materials a challenge, and lead times much longer.

Initially our clients had hoped for a skylight built from one long pane of glass which would throw light through the dining space of their kitchen and emphasise the exposed brick wall.

We were unable to source this scale of glazing thanks to available stock issues, we remedied this by agreeing slight amendments to the design. Our clients opted to break the feature into two sections, still filling the room with light and providing a sleek feature within the space.

Our clients originally purchased this property in the hope of a long term self renovation however work pressures and time constraints made this a challenge. We met Chris and Natalie at the demolition stage of their project and they already had very specific design ideas and had sourced the majority of their materials. We worked tirelessly in ensuring a smooth handover from their handiwork to our own and keeping very clear communication throughout every step of the project.

The overall goal for this couple was to maximise this rather compact living space. With the clever repositioning of interior walls and doorways we managed to shrink down and square off their previous bathroom, converting the room to a walk in shower room. This freed up additional living and bedroom space.

During the handover process we did hit a challenge when we established the flat roof of the property was leaking. This was amended prior to carrying out internal works.

E17 Kitchen Extension

Our second clients on Belgrave Road in E17 had visions of their kitchen/garden becoming the hub of their family home. With their toddler in mind we worked together to create a space that could not only cater to their love of cooking and socialising but also ensure a secure space for a young child to play. Taking into consideration things like the stone worktop being a potential hazard we were sure to round off edges and apply translucent buffers as an additional safety measure. We worked closely with our clients to ensure the outdoor space was practical for play time and spacious enough to cater to friends and family as they came for visits.
